Our Story
South End Village Academy was born out of necessity. When the Croft School's previous management committed financial fraud in March 2026, families in Boston's South End were left scrambling. The school our children loved, the classrooms they knew, the teachers who knew them by name, was at risk of disappearing.
But this community doesn't give up easily.
Within days, a group of parents came together and formed South End Village Academy as a registered nonprofit. We have a board of volunteer parents, each with skin in the game: our own children attend this school. We're not executives or professional fundraisers. We're moms and dads who decided that our kids deserve better than what happened to them.
Our goal is simple: keep the school running, keep the teachers teaching, and give our children the stability they deserve. Every dollar raised goes directly to teacher salaries, rent, utilities, and classroom supplies.
Who We Serve
Our school serves families from every background. Over half receive financial aid. Every kind of family belongs here, and every child learns alongside each other. The South End campus was specifically created to be diverse, inclusive, and affordable.
When the fraud hit, it didn't just threaten a school. It threatened the only option many of these families have. For scholarship families, there is no Plan B.
Our Mission
To ensure continuity of education for the children of the South End by maintaining and improving the school their families built together.
Our Board
South End Village Academy was formed by parents. People with kids in the school who decided to fight for it. We're a registered nonprofit with a volunteer board, and every one of us has skin in the game: our children.
Our board members are all parents at the school. Full board information coming soon.
Why We Need Your Help
SEVA needs to raise $1.3 million to keep the school running through the school year and beyond. As of March 24, 2026, our community has pledged $600K. We're over halfway there, but we need your help to close the gap.
Every donation, every share, every conversation helps.
